Project summary
This Rocky View County home was converted from an aging cedar shake roof to a Euroshield rubber roofing system in a black slate profile. The replacement involved more than changing the roofing material: deteriorated wood was uncovered and replaced along the eaves, additional plywood decking was installed where required, and the roof's numerous wall transitions, valleys, steep sections and penetrations received new flashing details. Custom black metalwork, ridge venting and matching Euroshield ridge caps were incorporated throughout to give the completed roof a consistent slate-style appearance while transitioning the home away from its previous cedar shake system.
