Current planning assumptions
Preliminary installed pricing is $2.60-$2.73 per watt under pricing version solar-retail-2026-09-v1. These are planning figures, not a final contract price.
Roof-fit production is modeled first. A recommended preliminary system should then be sized against the home's actual annual electricity use. Micro-generation imports and exports depend on when the home uses electricity, when the panels produce it, and the customer's retailer plan; they are not estimated from a fixed public export percentage. Policy assumptions were last reviewed 2026-09-08.
Imports, exports and self-consumption
Solar used while it is produced can offset imported energy. Surplus generation may be exported under retailer and distribution utility terms. Exported electricity does not imply that every delivery, transmission, distribution or fixed charge is credited.
