Insurance Hail Damage Malarkey Legacy Roof Replacement – Evanston NW Calgary

Evanston, Calgary

This project involved a full insurance-related hail damage roof replacement at a residential property in Evanston NW Calgary. The existing asphalt roofing system showed widespread hail impact damage across multiple slopes, including granule displacement, bruising, shingle fractures, ridge cap deterioration, and damage around roof penetrations and venting components. During the assessment, multiple hail strikes were documented throughout the roofing system, including impact damage to field shingles, ridge caps, vent flashings, and accessory components. Several areas also showed lifted or compromised shingle seals consistent with storm exposure and aging acceleration following hail events. The existing roofing system was removed and replaced with a new Malarkey Legacy impact-resistant asphalt shingle system in Storm Grey. New underlayments, starter shingles, ridge components, valleys, drip edge, rake metal, and ventilation accessories were installed as part of the reroof scope to restore full system integrity and improve long-term weather resistance. The property measured approximately 2,030 sq ft across 17 roof facets with a predominant 4/12 pitch.

Eavestrough cleaning and Fascia repair in Rutland Park

Eavestrough cleaning and Fascia repair in Rutland Park

Rutland Park, Calgary

This job involved maintenance and repair work on a standing seam metal roof in Rutland Park SW Calgary. During cleaning, we found areas along the fascia and roof edge where the sealant had failed and sections were starting to break down, especially around the chimney and transition points. These are common spots where water starts to get in if they’re not kept up. The eavestrough system was cleaned out first to get drainage moving properly again, then we worked through the fascia repairs and re-secured any loose edge details. Sealing was redone around the roof edge and chimney transitions so everything is closed up properly and not relying on old or failed sealant. On maintenance jobs like this, catching these areas early usually prevents bigger issues down the line, especially on metal systems where water tends to track along seams and edges.

Roof Replacement with Malarkey Vista Silverwood Shingles and Full System Upgrade

Oakridge, Calgary

This roof was replaced as a full system after the existing shingles were removed down to the wood deck to start clean. Once stripped, the deck was checked and prepped before installing a full Malarkey underlayment system, including ice and water protection at key areas and synthetic underlayment across the remaining surface. The roof was then finished with Malarkey Vista shingles in Silverwood, along with EZ Ridge XT capping to complete the system. All penetrations, including gooseneck vents and roof vents, were reset and flashed properly so everything ties in tight without weak points. Metal work was also redone as part of the install, including new drip edge, rake edge, and valley metal so the system isn’t relying on older materials at transitions. The finished roof came together clean, with consistent layout and alignment across all sections. The Silverwood colour tied in well with surrounding homes while giving the roof a more updated look. On full replacements like this, rebuilding everything as one system avoids issues that come up when new materials are tied into older sections.

Real Calgary Roofing and Exterior Project Examples

A project page should do more than show a finished roof. It should show what actually happened on the house.

What was replaced. What was repaired. What changed during the job.

Some projects are straightforward. Others look simple from the ground but turn into full replacements once the roof is opened up. That’s normal, and it’s why seeing real jobs matters.

Each project here is tied to a real home and a real scope. The goal is to give you a clearer idea of what work actually looks like in Calgary, not just what it’s supposed to look like in theory.

Compare Roof Replacement, Repair, Siding, and Eavestrough Work

Not every job starts the same way.

Some homes need a full roof replacement because the shingles are worn out or failing. Others only need a repair after wind damage or a leak around a transition. Some issues come down to drainage, where eavestrough and downspout changes fix the problem. Other times it’s siding, soffit, or fascia that needs attention.

That’s why filtering matters.

If you’re looking at roofing, you should be able to compare roofing jobs, not scroll through unrelated work. Same goes for siding and eavestrough. A full replacement in Calgary should be compared against other real replacements, not mixed examples.

If you know what you’re looking for, start with the service filters. If you’re not sure yet, look at projects in your area and see what’s actually happening on similar homes.

How Project Examples Help You Plan

Project examples help because they show what actually happens on real houses.

Two homes might both “need roofing,” but the scope can be completely different. Roof shape, ventilation, drainage, access, and how the original system was installed all change the outcome.

Looking through real projects helps you figure out where your house likely sits. Repair, replacement, or something in between.

It also helps you see how materials are actually used, not just how they’re marketed.

This doesn’t replace an inspection, but it gives you a much better starting point. If you want a rough number first, use the instant quote tool, then compare that range against similar projects here.

Roofing Materials, Scope, and Neighbourhood Context

Material choice matters, but the scope around it matters just as much.

A roof isn’t just shingles. It can involve ventilation changes, edge details, transitions, underlayment, and drainage corrections. On some homes, everything ties together clean. On others, different sections need to be rebuilt so the system actually works as one.

Location also plays a role.

Different parts of Calgary tend to show different patterns. Some neighbourhoods have older roofs with long-term wear. Others have newer homes where the issue is how the original install was done.

Looking at projects by area helps you see what’s common, what isn’t, and how similar homes are being handled.

Hail-Damaged Soft Metals Replacement – Eavestrough, Fascia, and Downspouts

Hail-Damaged Soft Metals Replacement – Eavestrough, Fascia, and Downspouts

Coventry Hills, Calgary

The soft metal components on this property had consistent hail damage, with visible denting along the eavestrough runs, fascia face, and downspout sections. The damage was uniform across all elevations, making spot repairs impractical and noticeable once completed. On hail jobs like this, the damage is usually consistent across all soft metals, so partial repairs tend to stand out and don’t hold up long term. We removed the damaged eavestrough, fascia capping, and downspouts and completed a full replacement to restore proper drainage and clean up the overall look of the home. New materials were installed with correct slope, alignment, and secure fastening throughout. All corners, joints, and terminations were reworked to eliminate previous weak points and ensure long-term performance.

Northeast hail-damaged vinyl siding replaced with Hardie board upgrade

Northeast hail-damaged vinyl siding replaced with Hardie board upgrade

Coventry Hills, Calgary

The existing vinyl siding showed widespread hail damage with cracking and punctures across the elevation, particularly around window and mid-wall sections. The scope moved away from patching and into a full replacement on the affected sides to avoid mismatched repairs and ongoing issues. We removed the vinyl, prepped the wall, and installed a full Hardie board system with new trims and flashing so everything ties back in clean. The finished exterior has a consistent look across all elevations and is better suited for long-term durability in these conditions.
