Citadel, Calgary
The homeowner requested a roof inspection after realizing the property had never been checked following a hailstorm from a couple of years earlier. Rather than finding an immediate need for replacement, the inspection identified several smaller maintenance items that could be addressed before they developed into larger problems. We repaired damaged and loose cap shingles, renewed deteriorated sealant around roof vents, flashing and the chimney collar, and addressed exposed or unsecured fasteners where needed. While cleaning the eavestroughs, we also found a corner joint that required resealing and completed that repair as part of the maintenance visit. Additional exterior items, including damaged siding and window trim/flashing that would benefit from colour-matched sealant, were documented for a future return visit.

Cochrane, Cochrane
After seeing several nearby homes receive new roofs over the past few years, including the neighbouring property, these homeowners decided it was the right time to replace their own roof before age-related wear became a larger concern. Rather than waiting for problems to develop, they chose a planned roof replacement focused on long-term performance and workmanship. The new roofing system features Malarkey Vista Class 4 impact-resistant shingles in Silverwood, along with 26-gauge W-style valley metal, custom drip and rake edge, compatible ice-and-water protection, synthetic underlayment, and high-profile EZ Ridge XT caps. Every component was selected to create a complete roofing system built for Alberta's climate while maintaining a clean, finished appearance.

Cochrane, Cochrane
Many homes in this Cochrane neighbourhood were reaching the age where roof replacements were becoming common, and these homeowners chose to replace their roof before major problems developed. Rather than waiting for leaks or storm damage, they invested in a complete roofing system designed for long-term performance and durability. The existing roof was replaced with Malarkey Vista Class 4 impact-resistant shingles in Silverwood, along with new 26-gauge W-style valley metal, custom drip edge and rake edge, high-profile ridge caps, and compatible ice-and-water protection and synthetic underlayment. Careful attention was given to valleys, wall flashings, roof penetrations, and the home's multiple roof transitions to create a complete roofing system built for Alberta's changing weather conditions.
You can use these projects to compare what was actually done, what materials were used, and how similar homes were handled. Whether you’re looking at a full roof replacement, repair, eavestrough, or siding work, this is meant to give you something real to compare against before you book a quote.
A project page should do more than show a finished roof. It should show what actually happened on the house.
What was replaced. What was repaired. What changed during the job.
Some projects are straightforward. Others look simple from the ground but turn into full replacements once the roof is opened up. That’s normal, and it’s why seeing real jobs matters.
Each project here is tied to a real home and a real scope. The goal is to give you a clearer idea of what work actually looks like in Calgary, not just what it’s supposed to look like in theory.
Not every job starts the same way.
Some homes need a full roof replacement because the shingles are worn out or failing. Others only need a repair after wind damage or a leak around a transition. Some issues come down to drainage, where eavestrough and downspout changes fix the problem. Other times it’s siding, soffit, or fascia that needs attention.
That’s why filtering matters.
If you’re looking at roofing, you should be able to compare roofing jobs, not scroll through unrelated work. Same goes for siding and eavestrough. A full replacement in Calgary should be compared against other real replacements, not mixed examples.
If you know what you’re looking for, start with the service filters. If you’re not sure yet, look at projects in your area and see what’s actually happening on similar homes.
Project examples help because they show what actually happens on real houses.
Two homes might both “need roofing,” but the scope can be completely different. Roof shape, ventilation, drainage, access, and how the original system was installed all change the outcome.
Looking through real projects helps you figure out where your house likely sits. Repair, replacement, or something in between.
It also helps you see how materials are actually used, not just how they’re marketed.
This doesn’t replace an inspection, but it gives you a much better starting point. If you want a rough number first, use the instant quote tool, then compare that range against similar projects here.
Material choice matters, but the scope around it matters just as much.
A roof isn’t just shingles. It can involve ventilation changes, edge details, transitions, underlayment, and drainage corrections. On some homes, everything ties together clean. On others, different sections need to be rebuilt so the system actually works as one.
Location also plays a role.
Different parts of Calgary tend to show different patterns. Some neighbourhoods have older roofs with long-term wear. Others have newer homes where the issue is how the original install was done.
Looking at projects by area helps you see what’s common, what isn’t, and how similar homes are being handled.

Evanston, Calgary
This Evanston home was upgraded from hail-damaged vinyl siding to a more durable James Hardie exterior. The homeowner wanted improved resistance to future exterior damage without completely changing the familiar colour palette and overall character of the house. The new design uses horizontal Hardie siding across the main elevations, with Hardie shingle accents retained on the upper front sections. Contrasting battens around the windows, doors, corners and architectural transitions preserve the layered appearance of the original exterior while providing a longer-lasting envelope finish.

Southwest Calgary, Calgary
This garage exterior project focused on replacing the existing siding with a new vertical panel siding system to refresh the appearance of the detached structure. New batten pieces and exterior trim were installed to create clean panel transitions, while the roofline was finished with updated fascia components for a consistent appearance. This siding replacement gave the garage a modern look while maintaining a cohesive finish across the exterior.

Hidden Valley, Calgary
This Hidden Valley home was upgraded from its existing siding to a James Hardie exterior designed to make better use of the home's different rooflines, gables and architectural sections. Rather than repeating one siding profile across every elevation, the new design combines James Hardie lap siding with staggered shingle accents and Midnight Black details to create more definition around the windows, rooflines and other exterior features. The existing stone sections and rear deck structure were worked into the new layout so the finished exterior would feel intentional rather than pieced together. The result is a more detailed exterior design that keeps the home's original character while giving it a cleaner, more durable finish.

Coventry Hills, Calgary
The existing vinyl siding showed widespread hail damage with cracking and punctures across the elevation, particularly around window and mid-wall sections. The scope moved away from patching and into a full replacement on the affected sides to avoid mismatched repairs and ongoing issues. We removed the vinyl, prepped the wall, and installed a full Hardie board system with new trims and flashing so everything ties back in clean. The finished exterior has a consistent look across all elevations and is better suited for long-term durability in these conditions.
